About Unmasked

Safe, stable environments where people can find support, connection and professional help.

“We believe that removing the stigma of mental health starts with creating a space where no one has to wear a mask.”

Understanding mental health

Mental health comprises our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we feel, think and act, and can determine how we handle stress. Good mental health is important at every stage of life.

People who have good general health can still have underlying emotional problems and mental health issues. These can be caused by a genetic predisposition, environmental influences, trauma (during childhood or as an adult), bereavement, loneliness, stress, a long-term medical condition, being a carer or family problems. Stressful work or education environments can make things worse.

With an estimated 1 in 4 people experiencing some form of mental illness, it's possible that you or one of your loved ones could be living with a mental health issue, sometimes in silence.

What we do

Our goal is simple

Here at Unmasked Mental Health, through our Hubs, Counselling Services and Training provision, we want to provide safe, stable and regulated environments where people who are experiencing poor mental health can communicate and support each other, or get professional support.

Our Hubs can also be used to educate employers and others on how to support people who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.

We are proud to partner with many other organisations within the communities we operate. Unmasked are a social prescriber service working in partnership with NHS England, which means you can be referred to us for support directly from your GP.
